What are the different ways to support our cause?
You can read stories to our children in partner schools, conduct book drives in your communities, donate money, buy notebooks/stationary for our children, or purchase story books for our library.
Do you accept pre-loved books?
Yes. Most of the donations we receive are pre-loved books. However, ensure the books are in good condition and reusable.
What kind/genre of books do you accept?
We accept children’s English story books (including dual language books). These include preschool board books, picture books, Amar Chitra Kathas, Pratham and Tulika publications, fiction, and non-fiction for high school children. We do not accept curriculum books.
How do I sign up for volunteering?
It’s simple. Fill in your details in the Sign-up form or click on ‘Join us’. Fill in the details, and we will contact you.
How do I get to choose a school if I want to read stories to your children?
We will allocate a school to you based on your preferred location or the one closest to your residence/workplace. If you know of an affordable private school near you, you can refer them to us, and we can add them to our partner school list.
How many hours of commitment do you expect from the volunteers for story sessions?
One hour per week is expected from each volunteer. Additionally, allow 30-45 minutes extra for commuting to and from the school.
What kind of stories am I expected to read to the children?
A curated ‘read aloud’ book will be provided by us along with a complete lesson plan and activity sheets.
I haven’t worked with children earlier. Can I still visit schools to read?
Yes. We will provide an orientation before you start visiting schools. Our team can also assist you in the classroom until you feel comfortable being on your own with the children.
